This piece was made in response to my research of self-objectification - seeing yourself as an object for desire.
The theory of self-objectification was introduced by Frederickson and Roberts in 1997, they described the theory as ‘the internalised view of yourself as an object’. They found that it was the first psychological consequence from the constant evaluation of one’s appearance from others, and from living in a sexually objectifying culture.
